Re:Comp and DD3

On your HO 6 Speed, you will notice a big increase in power with 100hp injectors.
It will feel like you added another Comp.
But, I would suggest adding an HX40 to keep those EGT's down, which will become an issue if you like to hammer it on 5x5 on a regular basis.

--Justin

Well not entirely true. When he adds the injectors yes they will give him the true 100hp gain, however the gain from the COMP will actually be lower then it is now. Thats the joy of the ETH motor. Stage III's + COMP = 450hp on ETC motor, but your lucky to get 400 on a ETH with the same setup. Just a lil clarification

Can you clarify your clarification? Where do we insert ETC in that statement? Or does it apply both to ETH!

Re:Comp and DD3

Kat Diesel,
I don't agree with that from personal experience. My DD111's added the full 100HP I figure, and how do they take away from the comp?? I dynoed at 310 RWHP with the comp only. Two hours later I dynoed with the DD111's and got 401.8 RWHP with the tires spinning away on the dyno as they didn't have any way to winch the truck to the rollers. I was putting out almost as much tire smoke as exhaust smoke. Also ambient temp went up about 9 degrees between runs.
So where did the gain from the comp diminish here ???
Clarification?

You have COMP + DD III's. On an ETC motor that is 440 to 450hp ..... I ran it that way for a while with an HX35 for the turbo.

On your ETH its only 400hp verified by yourself. The COMP is 120hp (rated) and the injectors 100hp(rated) If thats true, then you should have been 440hp easy. Did you ever dyno it stock?

To further my point, my COMP is is good for 160hp from injectors only to Level 5.

Re:Comp and DD3

I have DD3's, drag Comp and HX40 (bone stock). I dynoed with everything I listed, except an EZ instead of the Comp, and did 368/800 on the dyno. Have not had the chance to dyno with the Comp, but I suspect to be between 400 - 410 HP and ~900 #'s torque.

I'm seriously thinking of going to a B1 and getting a set of BullyDog 7's next year, for drag racing ONLY! Will keep the DD3's for daily driving.

Tom

Re:Comp and DD3

The ETH VP44 does not respond to fueling boxes, like the ETC does, because it isn't able to pump as much fuel. However, it runs at a much higher injection pressure, and that's why the ETH really likes larger injectors.

A nice swap would be to install an ETC VP44 on an ETH, but it doesn't work because the timing is different between the 2.
