DD3+'s & 4" Exhaust in
O 5/29 I installed a set of DD3+'s in the old '93 and then Rip Installed a 4" exhaust on 5/30. Before I go into detail I need to say that I found and fixed a leak in line running to my boost gauge - this is why I was only seeing 17 lbs of boost.
The combination is awsome . as I was getting on I84 I was able to hammer it for a bit in 4th. Boost was 26 lbs, egt's peaked at 700 and it didn't start defueling even at 70 mph in 4th. Smoke was not much more than my PW's put out. I hope to dyno over in Idaho on 6/7 and will post my numbers.
Now for the bad news Lenny at Dynamite Diesel said that this was the last set of DD3+'s that Diesel Dynamics will build for a 1st Gen. :

Not to beat a dead horse but......... there are only a couple shops/people that are active in the 1st Gen area. The main reason is simple... these trucks are 10+ years old, and nothing new is happening because it is not a big enough market to work in/sell too.
That's the reason you want to support the places that do, instead of someone on E-Bay for example.

bob.

" One of" cost benefit analysis is no good if it's not mass production/volume.... I can't say I blame them either...
Lets be honest, our trucks are old technology/old news.
Again, I favour the guys/shops that do things for us ole timers and offer help, info, parts, and even events for us too...I know PDR has (thanks to nascar mark) started to install " 1 of a kind " custom 4" exhaust from the turbo back.
It's a heck of a lot of work too.... there isn't much $$ in it believe me. My brother just had a ATS manifold and a 4" front to back put on.... man that is one nasty butt sounding rig now.... with a 5" tip.. it looks like sewer pipe size and sounds awesome...!!!

bob.
