Clutch Questions

I am running a 2002 quad cab, 3500, 2wd. It has a Premium FMS, 80 Horse Propane, Edge EZ, Amsoil Filter, and straight exhaust. I am planning on putting in a new clutch in a few weeks but am curious of somthing. I can slip my clutch pretty much anytime I want, but it dosnt seem to be bad in 2nd, and 3rd, but really starts slipping in 4th and 5th. If I shift at high rpms like I am racing, it slips but not as bad. I am going to be going to the races this weekend at a track that is pretty far away and want to know how much damage I could do to the clutch. I dont really want to get stranded at the races. Also, how much will the clutch slipping affect my ET's? Where I am going, it is pretty much all imports and would like to beat up on them a bit. I would really like to take my race car over but it is closed exhaust only this weekend.

Don't even THINK about racing on that clutch if its already slipping that bad. Your gonna end up either on a trailer back home or a wrecker if you can find a buddy with a trailer! :

Get a SBC before you get stranded!

Re:Clutch Questions

Got Smoke beat me to your question. He is right-on..Its not a matter of how much damage you might do, the damage is already done!! :-[ :-[ If the clutch is slipping as bad as you say, my recommendation you not race at all...I don't want to see your truck picture posted , in the" RICE or ROONEY" sushi site broke down with everyone . There are many more races to run, and you want to be at your best.

Steve

Re:Clutch Questions

Like everyone else has said. The damage is done. Get a SBC. Then you can up the power and REALLY trash those ricers.
