Clutch Help

I've got a slight problem and don't know how to deal with it due to lack of experience. I got my truck back in January. The clutch went out in February. I had it replaced with a "heavy duty southbend." The only problem is that it is begining to slip like it is going out again. I don't know if its because I had too much power or something else...I dunno...Anyone know what would cause it to go out in such a short time?

Your sig does not show real clutch killing power. Have you called the people that installed it and sold it to you? Maybe you still have the same clutch you had before the soutbend.

what was the rating on the clutch? a "heavy duty clutch" should hold whats in your sig. may have a bad rear main seal and have fluid on your clutch

South Bend Con O, Con OFE, or Con FE? Shouldn't really matter, it should hold what you have in your signature. I do like Ph4tty mentioned and call Peter at South Bend if you bought the clutch, or call the shop that installed it if they supplied it. You could also ask Peter if he sells clutches to that shop to make sure you got a South Bend.

Remember Southbend recomends a brake-in period for 500 Miles of stop and go before you go Crazy on it. IF you dont brake it in right, you can glaze the flywheel and the disc will never seat properly.....will slip no matter what clutch you have. Had a bud with a FE that this happened to......and i know he was being a dumb when he should have been nice on it!

Yeah..Tomorrow I'm going to drop by the shop that installed it. Get them to check it out and find out exactly what it was they installed. If I don't get it resolved after that I'll call peter at southbend and see what he can tell me. I don't think it was a matter of break in time because its been running fine since I had it installed and I've put a good 5 thousand miles on it, but we shall see.
