can i stack two chips

I have a Old School Van Aiken that connects to the Injection pump. There is sombody wanting to sell me a edge chip that connects to the MAP sensor. and i was woundering if i could connect them both and not have a problem.
So can i connect them both since the Van aiken connects to the Injection pump and the other one connects to the MAP sensor.

Depends if the Edge chip connects to the IP wire also. If so, not really an option.

You need a wire tap only box.

I think Blue Chip, TST and OUr XZillaraider modules are the only ones that do that. Any of those will stack nicely.

You need a fueling only box that does NOT add timing. The van Aaken is supplying the engine wit it's own timing as a way to increase power. So, you need a box like the TST that only sends a fueling pulse and does not provide it's own timing.

Some timing good, Too much timing bad.

Forget the box and get a programmer, a Smarty is a nice investment. I'm not running my Smarty all the time due to have a stock tranny but I love it for the simple fact you can check codes.

Well one thing abou the smarty its EXPENSIVE and the last thing somebody told me was not to use a programer becouse my truck wont be that great with a programer unless i put a diffrent tranny and bigger injectors and stuff like that.
Also you think my Van Aiken does add timing? All I know that think connects to the injection pump and thats it.

Better to add no timing at all than to add too much.

The Van Aaken does advance the timing a little, but nothing radical. It's a great all-around box. I had one (though it was a newer one that plugged in like an EZ does).

I actually preferred it over the Edge box because the VA was quieter. The Edge added enough timing to increase the rattle of the engine noticeably.

I never saw a difference in MPG between them, so while it SOUNDS like the EZ adds a lot more timing, I didn't see any real-world effect of it upon mpg.

Be advised that some of the older VA boxes did NOT do boost fooling-- meaning the truck would defuel and limit boost to the factory spec of ~21psi. This is bad.

So find out if this VA box has a built-in boost fooler, because you'll want one.

If it doesn't and you still want the box, you can get boost foolers from www.psdieselproducts.com for a good price.
EDIT: never mind, PS is out of business apparently. Musta been the PowerStroke resemblance
