Can i rip the DOG SNOT out of my truck now ???

I put my clutch in about 2 weeks ago, its a SBC DD 12CB 3850. Can i hurt this clutch at all?? I hear some of you guy's talk about 3rd gear launch, Can i do that?? I'm running a 40inch tire, but still, this clutch is suppost to hold alot power. I want to try it, bad!! But for how much that clutch cost, i don't want to hurt. But i guess weather a rear end or drive shaft breaks, thats a differnt story.
So, just wanted to know if thats what this clutch is made for?? I didn't know a hole lot about it when i bought, just knew it was the biggest DD i could get, and be street freindly. Thanks Chris

Have at it. The clutch I have is a bit smaller than yours (6CB 3600), and I've done a couple launches with it, and nothing is wrong. I did find out I need more power though!

go for it...i think i waited 4 days and maybe 100 miles before my first launch on it...done dozens more...havent hurt it yet

that clutch is tough, it will take alot...if you ever notice it getting grabby or chattering alot when you go to take off...put it in 3rd, slip it out hard from like 4k rpms and it will be silky smooth again for another few hundred miles

Maybe your clutch will hold it but I don't think your input shaft is going to like it...

Go for it, by all means. I heard that dropin em real hard right off the bat helps them grab better in the end. Hey, it was made for it. It wants to do it.

Do you think the mega HP sledtrucks drive around to seat in their DD. I think not, shop to trailer, trailer to sled, then, well you know the rest of the story OOO did I mention that I've shelled out my tranny (twice) you play you pay, but don't let that stop you, just remember, get it on tape

So i still have the chance of breaking this bigger shaft i got from SB??

make sure you have a shovel and bucket with you!! my money is on a driveshaft or yoke. should be lots of pieces when you get done!!
Thats what i think the weakest link is next too!!

Well guy's, got alittle stupid with it last night. Its been raining for the past two day's, and the beans where out of the fields. so i went playing. Talk about wet, good thing i had darn near new tire's. Third gear launch in two wheel dig was no problem. Then i tried fourth, Holy cow In two wheel dig i was thowing mud about 50ft in front of me!! The tires where slinging mud so hard i craked my pasger side inner fender!!!
Does good so far in the mud, now time for the pavement!!-Chris

The bigger shaft Shouldn't break but I wouldn't worry about the clutch now just the rest of the drivetrain.
