Cab "Light" Question

I just got my cab lights put on...yes they do look great, but I have a quick light color question. I got the smoked lenses and I want to put the white bulb in to replace the amber bulb. I have been told by 50% of people that say its illegal and a big fine, and the other half say the only colors you can't have are red and blue. anyone know for sure what is right?

I believe that the law states....amber to front and red to rear. You should be alright, but you never know when a cop is having a boring day.

In my state (Maine) you cannot have white light except for headlights.. as far as cab lights i doubt a cop would ticket you unless he was having a bad day. i have seen tickets for clear corner lenses and bulbs though.

I ran blue cab lights with clear cab lights in my old truck for over a year and didn't get anything said to me....

Reverse lights were blue too...Just depends on how your local cops are.

Ok, I brought my truck in to the police station just to be 100% sure about this...So in Colorado, it is perfectly fine to have white bulbs in a smoked cab light lens, he thinks it would be up to a cops discretion(whether or not he is having a good day) if you had clear lens's and decided to put white in b/c of the different tints of some of the white bulbs(may appear slightly blue). But blue and red are very illegal and because of a kidnapping and murder here in fort collins about 4 years ago that involved police impersonation it is now a felony for using lights of that color for any reason whatsoever.
