ive read a lot of threads about how to increase boost, but i just cant seem to figure out why. i have an edge ez with the adjustable boost elbow screwed all the way in. i havent pulled with it yet, but i cant seem to get over 20 psi. any help would be great

When I had an EZ I could get up near 34 lbs but I had a banks quickturbo kit. Without the ez though I only get low 20's.

 

you were probably could only see 20's because the EZ has the boost fooler so you can go higher right? i dont know a lot about it but ive heard that stock your computer will only let your boost get to 22-23 max, but with the EZ, your boost can climb as high as you want

 

Not quite true. With no smarty or box you can still build more than 20: I hit 35+ with the stock ecm and no boost fooler (lots of extra fuel) . If you keep doing it it'll throw a p0234 overboost code. The ez should take care of this. Now if you add more of a load on the motor or add more fuel you'll see more boost. Hook to a load and climb a hill in high gear on a cold night and see how much boost you build

 

yeah, i would really like to peg it out on a hill with a load and see what she can climb to.

 

With a properly working EZ you should be able to hit 28-30+psi. I could hit 32psi with just an EZ.

 

well, i cant hear a boost leak and i checked all of my boots, and i have my adjustable elbow screwed all the way in. is it possible my elbow is screwed up and i should just plug the wastegate hole with a bolt?

 

Update: OK, im not sure what to do now. i tried the vice grip trick just to see what would happen and my boost didnt change, is my wastegate stuck part way open or why can i not get more boost with the wastegate hose pinched shut???????
