boost and injector questions

hello, I have a couple of questions. i had my head studded and o-ringed installed 150 hp bd injectors during 1st test drive notice would idle wierd and engine sounded totally differant them before or any other cummins i have heard during my 2nd test drive i noticed a wind type noise when i accel oand when the trans shifted my wind noise changes tone this is the 1st i have noticed this issue?? i am running around 900* egt with only 2-4 psi of boost at 55- 65 mph ?? i checked for a boost leak and didnt find one at this time but did notice that i have devloped a oil leak where the it appears to be a oil return pipe bolts up and possible where the 2 half mate coulnd tell for sure ?? What kind of boost number should i see when accelerating ?? the truck just doesnt seem right and help would be great thanks, jr

It really sounds like you have a boost leak. Check all of the hose clamps, the air horn gaskets and sorry to say, the injectors them self. Could have one of the o-rings or bass washers not seat right? The leaky oil return line will not effect the amount of boost that is in the intake tract.

Most like one of your rubber boots on the intercooler piping has partially squeezed out from under the clamps. Mine did it a few times already. If you have the stock turbo you should have 8-10 psi at 55 just cruising. acceleration should see between 10 and 36 depending on how much throttle you give it. And your temps should be lower at 55 like 600-700. Check all your boots, do a search on how to pressure test the system, or easy way i used once was to brake boost it with a freid feeling for the leak. (Im not fully recomending ths cause it is dangerous if the truck should move due to an accident) Plant your foot on the break hard, and give it a little throotle to get like 2-3 lbs of boost and you will find the leak.
