worth it? I bought mine for $15 off ebay.
as for what it does, it blocks off the wastegate so you can get more boost out of the turbo. However, you won't want to use one unless you have a boost fooler, or a box that has a boost fooler built in, otherwise you will throw codes and I believe cause de-fueling.
BTW, the purpose is that as you add more fuel to create more power, you also create more heat. more air is what cools it, so more boost will get more air in the cylinders.

what is a boost fooler? are they hard to install, and about how much do they cost, when you say it creates more heat, about how much, i do a little bit of hauling, a CAT skid steer and cattle, so i dont want any thing to cause to high of EGTs

Boost fooler tells the trucks computer it is still under 22 psi boost, when it's actually higher. This prevents defueling.
And your EZ has a boost fooler built in.
As explained, boost elbow will allow more boost, which will get more air to cylinders. Block off wastegate completely, until you have enough fuel to hit 33-35 Psi boost. Above that is over heated air and higher EGT's!
Your signature does not mention tranny.... assume you have 5 or 6 speed manual?

Mxdsl183,
On my 02 the stock elbow was on the turbo(radiator side) at about the 6 o'clock position. The stock elbow screws right into the turbo and has a vacume line running to the wastegate. The stock one is more of a 45 degree angle while the after market is a 90 degree......hope this is not too confusing.

Hey guys I need a little help.I just finished installing my comp drag and it came with a boost elbow but on my turbo it doesnt look like there is anywhere to put it.The truck is a 01 5spd.I've heard that on autos the wastegate line is solid or something ,but my truck is a manual. It appears that there is a line on the front of the turbine housing at the bottom right but there is no appearant way to get the line off and it is solid.Pics would help immensly.I am only seeing 21psi but the truck still rips
