Bombing report

For those that are not doing major mods, here are my impressions of my mods so far.

I added the van Aaken V5 a couple of weeks ago. Nice improvement in throttle response. Next, I blocked off the wastegate and the improvement in my seat of the pants dyno said it was better. However it seemed to run out of breath at higher RPMs. I suspected the intake might be at fault and wanted to get the K&N out of there anyway, so after a little research I ordered the S&B Cold Air Intake. Very nice effect. Maybe I'm crazy, but the idle felt smoother immediately upon starting the engine. It pulls stronger right off the bottom and has no feeling of running out of breath at higher revs. The stock system with the K&N felt like there was a step in the power curve, but with the S&B it feels linear from top to bottom. Most of the time this truck will see 1500-2200 revs in it's daily use and while towing, so for me it meets my expectations. Kinda tame when compared to the HP junkies on this forum, but exactly what I was looking for.

Oh btw, the new Bilsteins rock! It's amazing how bad the oem's are after 100k miles. Who knew?

ummm........yeah.............where do I go first? Seriously tho', I was thinking about some towing injectors (275's or Bosio tips) but plan on waiting until I get settled in Georgia.

Your feeling that the truck is "running out of breath" at higher RPMs could be defueling due to high readings from the MAP sensor. Does the VA box have a boost fooler? Someone here knows...

First upgrade, Hmmmmm, buy a 12 valve. Just messing with you. A smarty would probably help any problems you are having with top end defuelling.
