I just used the KRYLON paint for plastic and it came out like butter a good match to dodge intense blue as well!

Hey Jamie, if you want to make it smooth and slick like the rest of your truck, here's what you do:

Put a light coat of glazing putty over the entire thing and let it harden(very important, if not completely dry, it will peel). Wet sand(800 grit) that down to the bare plastic and get as many of the grooves and waves out of it as you can.

Then spray a coat of primer on it. Wet sand that with some 800 grit till it's bare plastic again. Repeat at least 3 more times. More if you want it smoother.

Spray 4 or 5 light coats of paint on it till it is the desired coverage on it.

Spray 4 or 5 light coats of clear coat on it after that. Take some 2000 grit paper and wet sand the clear coat until you see no more little ridges and it is a dull finish.

Take a buffing compound (Meguiar's Scratch X Remover works AWESOME) and buff the piece with a towel to a high gloss.

Wax it with whatever wax you want.

Make sure you use Dupli Color spray paint and clear coat. I have yet to find a paint that works and shines as well as this does. You can use any sandable primer you want.

It takes a while (took 4 days for the pillar pod alone), but the end result is by far better than just spray painting. It's also a pretty durable finish as well.
