Big Injectors

Is anyone running DD Mega Mental injectors? If so how are they for daily driving as far as smoke......not that a lot of smoke ever hurt anyone , and driveability? The old girl is feeling kinda lazy lately and I was thinking of these or maybe some BD 5's or ???. Any input as far as experience with any brand of big injectors would be appreciated, especially if you have tried cold starting with them as it gets down to -60*F up in the north at times.
TIA

Re:Big Injectors

I have heard of people running BullyDog 8's for daily driving, but they have twin turbos, which really help clear up the smoke on the higher rpms, and the lower rpm because of lessened lag with the small turbo. I think there is a few others running 8's without twins, one i know of has a PDR HX40, and a couple with the B-1.

Andrew
Re:Big Injectors

Just outta curiousity, why would you want to run that large of an injector in the winter?

With my winter injectors (DDIII's) I can easilly get sideways at 85 mph on damp roads, (did it today for a customer who was curious about a little hp), add another 100hp to that, and you'll need a wrecker on retainer.

Injectors can be swapped out in less than an hour, not an big issue when spring time comes around.

BTW, if you really have to have BIG injectors, get ahold of J.R. Adkins.

Later, Rob

yes, i know someone with BD8s and twins and it still smokes like a ba$t@^d! actually, here's his truck... dont' drive behind because you wont be able to see a darn thing unless he's light on the throttle (yeah, it smokes a lot at idle-never clears up)

Re:Big Injectors

I have a set of mega mentals in my truck and the weather is starting to get cold up here in canada. The smoke isn't bad under normal throttle and the comp turned down. But once you turn the box up look out. I run a HX40 with them, no twins yet. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
