bhaf, good choice?
thinking about installing a new air filter.would like to know more about bhaf.Do you just lay it in same place as original air box or do you secure it .What about heat etc .also I need part #s

Do a search, there are part #s in the tech facts and a heat sheild template Here
If you do a general search, you will come up with lots of members that have pictures of their setups. I am just about ready to get the materials for my heatsheild, got my outerwears and the filter is in the mail.
Decent price on the NAPA gold filter at www.fleetfilter.com

My BHAF sits on a rubber mat which is stuck to the heat shield, got pic in my gallery, rubber mat was added after photo was taken.
I would advise some sort of protection for the outerwears, if you are going to use one, because the bolts holding down the original air box were left on to fix the heat shield to the inner wing(fender), will start to wear holes through the prefilter and may damage the main filter.
My BHAF is not tied down, just sits on the mat. I used Fleetguard AH19037, just ring Outerwears and tell them what filter you are using and they will send the right prefilter back, for a few pence(cents) more ask for an waterproof one, it's worth it.

When I made my heat shield I went to the scrap yard and for three dollars I got a piece of aluminum, printed the drawing, taped it all together and traced it out, used a jig saw to cut it out. I used the OEM bolts to hold the heatshield down. The filter just lays there like my kid.
