What is needed to connect a Big.Honkin.Air.Filter. BHAF?

Do I need a short piece of plastic pipe to clamp it too and to clamp the stock intake rubber too?

Does it fit nice with the stock rubber elbow or is a pipe extension needed etc?

I see the heat shield template in the Tech facts section. Do you down load it and tape the pieces of printer paper together for that tech facts template?

Anyone have some heat shields already made that I could contact?

Rick.

You should not need ANYTHING other than the filter and the stock clamps to connect your BHAF. The template works exactly as you suggested, just tape it together and cut it out. I don't think it would fit with any MORE than stock piping, its kinda a tight fit, but looks good..

I have heard of people using a short piece of exhaust tubing(about 4") The nipple on the filter is plastic/rubber and they worry about it crushing when you tighten the clamp down. I did not have this problem however.

the fleetgaurd and WIX filters are nice strong thick plastic...don't worry about it crushing, you will break the hose clamp before you crush the filter housing

If you use the NAPA (#2790) BHAF you do have to use a 4" to 3" PVC adaptor to make it work. If you use the Baldwin (which I now have) no adaptor is necessary.
