best tube step/nerf bars for a 1996 3500 CC

Does anyone have preferences for the step bar setups? We just brought home a nice little '96 3500 4x4 flatbed, and have a couple of little things to fix up.

This is a big truck (for me, at 5'4") and my chubby hubby's gonna tear the doggone doors off of it dragging his butt into the truck! We need steps! Running boards! SOMETHING! and I don't want it put on with screws into the cab floor, either - bolts to the frame is more my style.

Advice welcome, I want to get them bought and installed ASAP.

thanks all!

Welcome Aboard. Westin makes a good product. They bolt into the cab mount and have stood up to my 200 pound beating for 7 years now.

I have Westins on mine as well.

5 winters of Utah road salt has taken it's toll on the drivers side.
Plastic step pad has come loose.

Other than that they have been A-1, and I will be getting another set soon.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the welcome and the replies.

Hubby got a bee in his bonnet and will be fabricating. He's already got the rack made up to mount the under-bed toolboxes, and steps are next in line to get done. He figures he can make stouter than "storeboughten" in any case, and that's undoubtedly true! I will forward the notion of bolting to cab mounts, as that sounds like a good solution.

I got the truck for a day - man, she is SWEET! I am going to see if I get to keep her - he's wanting to get into a new one this fall, is talking about one of the new Dodge 4500 trucks that are supposed to be coming out.... I hope they DO come out, what with Daimler selling out.

Fingers crossed!
