N-Fab Nerf/Step Bars

I've never seen any in person. I like the looks and I think that the step is a bit lower than a stock OEM nerf bar. True? The web site indicates that it is not a "bolt-on" for Dodges. For those that have one, are there major mods to get to mount and how does it mount? To the frame or body?

I am also looking at the Bully adjustable truck steps that Summit sells. I think the holes must be drilled to mount. Is that right? Anyone with those?

Hopefully someone has these and can give me the straight scoop!

they mount to the pinched metal under the cab. i thought that was kinda cheesy but these things are stong. i think they might have one of the highest weight ratings out there. you can put a 300 lb person on them and they hardly move. i was very impressed.

but you have to pay for them...they are made down around here and are still very expensive by my standards but the look is worth it IMO

as far as install. you have to drill some holes through that metal lip and they bolt up. not to terribly hard

Thanks Brett.

I just found Go Rhino has bars similar to the N-Fab and they are bolt-on's. I am going to look into them as well.

Today is my "Saturday" ( work tues -sat) . There is a 4X4 shop in Orlando that I might swing by today. See what they have in stock. What ever it is it has to be either polished or chrome.

See y'all. I'll check in later.

Gotta get some covers for the plants - might get down to freezing tonight - first time since 2003. Never got to freezing for the 10 years I lived in Bradenton FL. Need to move further south!

We have a set of Amp Research power steps on our truck. They don't show at all when the doors are shut, but drop down when a door is opened. They bolt on, but do require some soldering to make them work with the doors. They will also support 600lbs on each one.

I like the looks of the n-fabs too. They have them in a 6-step set so you can have a step to the toolbox/bed, runs the full length of wheel-well to wheel-well. I was curious if anyone had them? Reason I am curious is that since they mount to the pinch-weld area on both the cab and bed and the cab and bed CAN articlulate slightly different, how would this mounting work out? Would it bind or have any issues that could cause a problem to the mounting bolts? That is the only thing that has held me back from getting them. Any info on that topic would be appreciated.

gerry - your truck looks very good with those n-fabs on it.

In my research, they don't mount to the bed area just the body, I think 4wheelparts? has them in a generic form also, someone might confirm this if you guys have them in your area. I'd like to her some opinions on mounting to the pinch weld, I just don't know about that.

I bought mine at 4 wheel parts... But when I was looking at them I e-mailed Nfab and asked about color matching them to the truck.. they said no problem.. whatever you want.. they seem real nice and customer orientated...

I decided to go with 4 wheel parts because they sent me a 25% off coupon.. this was just right for an expensive set of steps... They ordered them for me and I just had to go pick them up.. They only took like an hour to put them on..

One note on the install.. the brackets are not the same from bar to bar so don't pre-drill any holes.. and make sure they are right before you drill.. Custom drill to the step going on that side of the truck.. I used some jack stands and 2X4's to hold them in place and marked with a Sharpie... only took an hour by myself.

Here is mine with the 6-step bars. They dont mount past the cab. There are 6 holes per side you have to drill and none of them are on the bed portion.
