love my terra grapplers in a 305.

"good tire" as in

Traction?
Wear?
Ride?

There are trade offs, but so far my terra graplers are hands down the best ive had yet, on any vehicle.

I'm running 33x12.5x16.5 Kumho Road venture A/T's. Look similar to BFG mud terrain, less aggressive. I've got 35k on them and so far the backs have worn to less than half live, but the fronts look about 75%.

For the price they are the best I've seen, I think they were 130 or 140 each I think? maybe even less from tirerack. They have a little hum on the road, but much better than the super swampers I had before, and they wear 10x slower. Seem to handle the road pretty good, great in snow, acceptable in mud.

when i got my truck it had 305/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler AT's on the back and some Ameritrac tire on the front (same size) with the fuel prices as they are i decided to go to a 285/75R16 (if you do the calculations there is only a tenth of an inch in height difference, but a 12.50 instead) when time came to replace them. I found a good set of used nitto tarra grapplers and needed fronts and i have been running them on there since last august (~15,000 miles ago) and never rotated them, and now they are starting to wear a little funny, but they will live on the front till i need to replace them. and when it came time for new rears i got the nittos again. they are also fairly decent price for an E range tire. I got them at Discount tire for $180 i believe (about a month ago) everything else i was looking at in an E range was conciderably more. all in all i like the nitto's

oh i also had a pair of those "cheap" Durango tires (used, had about 3/4
tread left, 285's), they lasted me about from november till about a month
ago(~6,000 miles) and since i needed to get my inspections and they
wouldn't pass i roasted them..... they did very very good burn outs the
day i got my new ones.

Same here. They are a 33/12.50/17 but I tell you after running BFG's in the past and some Firestone's here and there. These are the absolute BEST tires I have ever had on any of my trucks.

Mickey Thompsons are garbage. Go with a Toyo or maybe BFG.

I like the looks of the rim and Cepek tire. How good are they in snow and heavy mud? How much $$$. The BFG KO are a good all around tire and easy to find if you wreck one. Been there a few times.

I'd like to know how those FunCountries do in the snow and rain too. How are they wearing for you guys? I gotta get new treads before next winter and I was looking a set of those in 285/75-16. They aren't really priced all that bad, infact I think they are cheaper than the BFG A/T in the same size.

These tires are the best I have ever ran in the snow. That is for an all around tire. In the mud they clean really fast (and spray crap everywhere). I used to run the BFG's and like I stated in my other post, I will buy these tires in the future. In the above pic these tires have about 13K on them and there are very slight signs of usage. Should go 50K or better. I got the set mounted and balanced and shipped to my door for 1300 on ebay.
