Depends on what you are going to do as far as mods...
If your mods are going to be MILD I would definately go 4".
That's my 2 cents....

Re:4 inch or 5 inch?
When I put my 5" on in anticipation of the mods currently underway, I noticed lower-slower boost on my turbo but a slightly less egt. The 4" just performed better on my truck with the mods as you see in my signature currently (minus 5" exhaust).
With the 4" exhaust the turbo would rip up to 42 lbs of boost in an instant and with the 5" it would come up noticably slower to 39 then 40 to 41. Not a slug mind ya, but noticably slower boost build.

JCL,
Really? I thought the bigger exhaust would allow the turbo to spool quicker. It seems like I have heard that in other places too, but I don't know that I've heard of anyone comparing by having a 5" and going back to a 4".

Re:4 inch or 5 inch?
I won't be going back down to the 4" as the bottom charger on my twins has a 5" outlet. Twins will be completed soon I hope . I just put the 5" on there early (3 weeks) before it went into the shop and that is what I noticed as far as how it drove.
Sounds awesome
EGT's down slightly
Turbo not spooling as fast

JCL,
Where can I see pics of your truck? I'm mainly interested in that cowl induction hood. I'd like to see pics from outside and inside. ;D

Re:4 inch or 5 inch?
Chris, the truck is over at Mark Kendrick's shop right now...
The hood is back off of the truck and at the body shop along with a few other items getting prepped for paint. The truck is going to go in the paint shop to be re united with those items and be worked over ASAP. It was lightly hail damaged and I am taking advantage of the insurance check to go ahead and have the whole truck repainted a prettier black.
I will post pics of the completed project when I get the truck out of the Paint Shop.
I also have to re-work the underside of the hood where it goes to the AFE Filter Box area as the twins are definately gonna change the location and shape a little. Mark is working with me to keep it to a minimum as far as how much it gets moved and reshaped but it is very tight in that corner.
Sorry no pictures of that for at least a month I would imagine. I wish I would have just gone with the twins idea originally :-[ It is all manageable though.....
