Post Begin the bomb!!!

Well after i spent over eight straight hours of readibg all the threads on this site concerning 2nd gen mods and upgrades i've decided to begin my venture. I've got a 98.5 3500. nothing fancy quite yet. 3 1/2 in straight pipe. k&n drop in filter. i want to get a bit more power out of this monster of a truck. i've read all the threds about box's, injectors, turbos/ wastegates, guages and all that good stuff and i seem to be getting mix reviews on what i want to do. I want to start with a set of injectors first of. probably 75 hp. i've got the 5 speed and clutch is strong so i dont think that adding another 75 hp is gonna kill me too baddly. i'm pushin 24 pounds of boost to the intake so air is'nt an issue yet either. if i add just injectors is this gonna pop up codes on me? and since were talkin injectors, i've shopped around for em and have found full replacement injectors and just the nozzles. of course the nozzles are quite a bit cheaper. any advantages or disadvantages to just swapping nozzles? if i do just injectors at first is there any other things i should add at the same time? i really dont have a ton of money to dump into this right away so i kinda want to get advice on the first few steps of the build up process. i've got the guages so hats one less thing to do . anyways, love the site. i've wasted many many MANY countless hours reading anything and everything about these trucks. keep up the good work!!!

You can do mild injectors and be alright. The only time it will throw codes is if you mess with the wastegate to gain more boost. The only thing that you might have to watch is your EGT's......adding more fuel but not adding more boost ( cool air ) will cause your EGT's to get hotter quicker.

You can buy a boost fooler from some of the vendors on this site and that will allow you to add more boost without throwing the codes....not sure how much they run price wise.....but it might be an option for you.

Welcome to the DTR!
Why don't you just start with a Comp and see if you still want injectors. The Comp has on the fly adjustability . how's your FP? If not might want to upgrade it too.
Oh ya where ya from? The Chapter #33 is doing injectors on two trucks tomorrow.

I would start by upgrading your fuel system to a Fass or Airdog....then a Edge Comp or Smarty would be my choice before injectors.
