Bd valve body
My trans is being rebuilt and I am using my bd valve body with the new trans, and was wondering if it would be enought for me, as every one is running a ats or dtt valve body. I am looking for big hp numbers, so i was thinkig about adding a transgo shift kit to the valve body? would this help or should i just try the vb by it self. Just don't want to kill the new trans.

did you trash your tranny with the BD VB in it?
i have a complete BD tranny under my truck, worked fine till now, with a bit bigger upgrades then u've got in your sig! It works notoriusly better then a stock one! but i've also never ridden in a DTT equipped truck or...

What is being done to your transmission in the rebuild? Are they upgrading the planetary gears, putting extra clutches in, modifying the pump for more flow? If that is being done then the valvebody should help you be able to hold 450+. If the tranny is being rebuilt to stock specs, the v/b does help out a lot, but not enough to support big hp. You havent mentioned anything about a torque converter either. This is actually the weakest link in the whole transmission. Replacing that is something you will definately want to do as well.

the trans is being built with the full Goerend rebuild kit with upgraded planetary gears, billet input shaft, 48re clutch hub, extra clutches bands, pluse some extra parts he added. Don't get me wrong the vb worked great on the stock trans and with a triple disc tq i was putting over 300hp at the wheels. but now with a bigger turbo more rpm tuned pump, and more tricks i am shooting for over 500hp at the wheels, just worried it woun't be up to the task. Is their any thing that could be done to help it out? just don't want to spend the money to buy a diff vb.

If it were me I'd have Dave do the V/B to his liking! If you were to run into any problems it will be easier for Dave to diagnose your problem, plus at this point a few hundred more dollars for a V/B is small in the grand sceme of things!!
