Question ats 3k/5k or industrial injection ps62 and s474 compounds for 97 12 valve? HELP!!!!

I already have a p/s 62/65/14 so it would be cheaper for me to add an s474 with industrial injections add a turbo kit but I am really considering swithching everything out for the ats 3k/5k compound kit. I think I would get quicker spool up with the ats kit because my p/s 62 is a little laggy on the bottom end already but I think I could make more power in the middle and on the top of the power band with the industrial injection set up. Please tell me what you guys think about both kits, also what type of boost leak issues have you experienced with either kit. I am leaning towards the industrial injection set up because it will be cheaper and ive seen pics of the kit and it looks pretty sweet. Let me know the pros and cons in all your experience.

I would buy the rest of the twin kit from sourced automotive
http://sourceautomotive.biz/1994-200...mins59l-2.aspx

Buy a S475/1.32 T-6 cheap cheap turbo, or a S475/1.1 T-6

I would do these P7100 mods 4kgsk, pull the plate. Adjust the afc foot for more travel, rack plug.

Im in the same boat except I have a 62/12 turbo.
Whats the difference with those two turbos you listed? Also I think II does something to the 62 in the twins set.. machining the wastegate or something?
Also considering a garrett twin setup since spool times are an issue in city driving. something to get me up near 650hp?

The differences between the two turbos is the turbine A/R ratio and the size of the turbine wheel. The cheaper/more typical S475/1.32 T-6 is a 96mm turbine and the S475/1.1 T-6 83mm or 86mm turbine wheel. I've only run the 83mm turbine wheel. The 83mm is very responsive, but the 96mm seems to cool better. I've also run the S478/83 T-6 1.1, works very well and spools nice.

Kawi600, What size is the turbine wheel on the S362 you have?

Hey kawi, not to change the subject but how do like your hamilton 210/181 cam? Did it lower your egt's as advertised? Im seriously considering getting one for my truck. What are all the benefits that you have noticed since our trucks are very similar in mods?

4969joes:

I am running a Scheid Diesel Twin Turbo Kit on my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve so I am not real familiar with the kits you listed although they all are somewhat similar. Right now, I have a Schwitzer 62/12 on top and a Schwitzer S-480 on the bottom. We recently added one of Scheid Diesel's
"Bullseye" Turbine Wheels which really helped my pickup off the line. You can look at my signature to see what type of power I am making. My truck is very strong in the middle and top end range and "back halves" the 1/4 mile very well.

You asked about boost leaks. For awhile, I had a small one right at the exhaust flange on the top charger. To remedy that, I wrapped one round of header tape around the joint and that stopped the problem.

Hope that helps you some Sir!
