ATS vs. Industrial Injection
ATS vs. Industrial Injection
Hi I live in Colorado and am currently building the "master plan" for my '06 CTD. I have been in contact with both ATS since they are in Colorado and Industrial Injection since they are in Utah, which is relatively close. I'm looking to get a pair of compound turbos, injectors, tranny work and everything necessary to make everything work well together as a daily driver. If anyone has any suggestions reguarding these two companys and the quality of there products in addition to performance, please I would love some input.
I have the a5k, 140 inj, and the full billet race tranny from ats. I love them..... I hear the a2k or a3k combined with the a5k works great! I also hear great feedback on II but ive never used their products. Both great company's in my opinion, good luck with the build!!!

Now I know that there are going to be plentyof people disagree with me but oh well. In my experience STAY AWAY FROM ATS. Example- ATS billet tranny broke it after a year and was told yeah no big deal send it in for warranty. Yeah right, to fix the problem it was going to cost another $3000. Wait a minute, doesnt your warranty say 100,000 miles or 3 years? especially for a billet tranny? Yeah but it doesnt cove this. Ok fine now my $6000 tranny just became a $9000 tranny, in less than a year. AWESOME......NOT. Ok eight to nine months later SAME EXACT THING AGAIN. Only this time I said no dice. Send it back to me. Then I got smart and baught a Goerend Bros tranny and 60,000 miles later at 600+ HP in a 10,000 pound truck im still going strong without a problem. Oh yeah and if I ever do Dave said send the tranny back to him, tell him how I broke it, and pay the shipping and he will fix it for me. By the way, the only person I have heard of breaking one of his trannys is a guy that has a 1000 HP sled puller and it still lasted longer than his ATS he had in it befor he had a Goerend tranny. Now as far as turbos I cant speak for Industrials compounds but if they work as well as my single then hell yeah they got my vote. I have had a Super Phats Shaft (II) 66 on my truck for nearly 100,000 miles and it works AWESOME. I do plan on having Industrial build my twins for me too. My injectors are made by them but made special for a shop in San Antonio, TX. The shop is Truck Source Diesel (.com for the web site). Great guys and these injectors with my turbo set up and a TST stacked with SMARTY have put down over 600 several times, plus the injectors clean up good too, smoke but not too much smoke. As far as an exhaust manifold and head studs go yeah ATS is is good but their are better deals. When I did my truck they were the only company with them and so I got those two things from them along with their "HIGH ARC FLOW" intake manifold. Recently though I plan on changing to one made by Joe Hellman of Hellman Performance (.com for his website). His are a lot better in price and they flow just the same as the on from ATS. Another reason I cant bring myself to buy ATS is that a guy I race against had them BUILD his D-Max with twin CP3s and the hole nine yards and he ways less than me and I still beat him in the 1/4 mile with my set up. He is going to have the guys at Treuck Source Diesel rebuild and fix his truck the RIGHT way so he can hopefully beat me at least once. I hope I didnt tick off too many ATS fans out there but I just cant help it. The general concensus around the people I know even former ATS supporters say NO TO ATS now. Plus look at it this way, after Houston last year Mad Dog did have an ATS tranny now I saw him post that he has a BTS. Enough said.
I'm not going to disagree. As far as transmissions are concerned there is alot better companies out there. Goerend, Suncoast, HTS, DTT to name a few. ATS and II are good for turbos, but so it HTT. Injectors, Formula One Diesel is the only way to go. Keep an eye on these forums. No one company is going to be the best for everything.

Everyone has a right to their opinion! Sorry to hear of your troubles because i love my parts. I am curious as to what broke in your tranny. I am somewhere around 30-40k on mine with no worries yet (knock on wood). BIGTXDUALLY, please pm me some info on your tranny issues like mileage when it broke, what programmers/boxes, etc. I think mine has held up so well b/c i dont really run my ruck that hard, i gave up on buying stock in the local sheriff's department and hpd along time ago
. There was just no return on on investment

As far as chargers go, I like both of them. I've had an ATS Aurora 2000 and now I have an II Super PHAT SHAFT. I loved the A2K for what it was, but I needed more air on top end. I love the SPS for that. As far as chargers go, I think you'll be fine either way.
