Anyone use a HiLift jack?

with the great respect that the HiLift jack has in the 4x4 world, I'd like to know if anyone has succesully used one on the 98-02's. The front bumper is just not strong enough. I wonder if some sort of custom grille guard might work. anyone here use a HiLift jack?

I have a 48" in the bed of the truck, but it is on its way out and will be pelaced by a 60"

I have the Mopar tow hooks up front, and they work as a decent place to lift from, but only if doing one tire.

I wouldn't lift from the Mopar tow hooks. I tried it and bent the hook slightly before the tire lifted off the ground. and those hooks I think are brittle so you dont' want to risk breaking one.

I've got the 60" HiLift. but seriously, there's no place to hook it to! do you have the little bumper hook attachment?

I still think the best choice is either a custom bumper guard or (unrelated to that) some custom work to attach something to the frame.

I'm planning on getting a 60" HiLift as soon as I get my DOR bumper, Layne says you can lift the whole front end from a D-hook attached to it.
The little bottle jack the truck came with doesn't quite cut it with my new tires, perish the thought I ever get a flat on the road now.

But, how 'bout this for an idea:

Loop a heavy duty tow strap around the axle, then use that to attach the HiLift, and lift from there?
It would be resting against the bumper, but not using it to lift.

phox
