anyone with srw and a flatbed have pictures?

i have a 2500 lb and am considering a flatbed for it. trouble is i cant find any pictures of flatbeds on a truck with single rear wheels. i am curios to see some pictures if anyone has done this. also if you had to do over again what would you do different? Re:anyone with srw and a flatbed have pictures?

J I have a deck on my truck with single wheels which I built my self. The factory box has many shortcomings for specific applications and don't regret it for a minute. I needed to incorporate a deck that could hold 2 quads without having to climb a mountain (add on skidoo decks) and raising the center of gravity, there is also a flip up fifth wheel so it is always with me and side tool boxes for small stuff. The tool boxes are a pain because the forward spring mounts stick way out and affect the size of the box unless you want to get real fancy and build around them. Adding the deck allowed me to refine the factory mess of wiring and incorporate a junction box to make it easier to add trailer plugs and trouble shoot problems. I went to LED lighting to eliminate overheating the less than adequate wiring harness but this allowed me to run 17 lights off the main circuit without burning everything up. I also put in 2 55w halogen backup lights so that they will actually be usable for backing in unfamiliar places. There is deck lights on a seperate switch which add to this feature. I also needed to have a mounting system for a pilot car sign for oversized loads which could be easily removed. I probably built the deck a bit to heavy as the truck weighs 7780lbs empty but you have to realize that includes the headache rack,5th wheel and tool boxes that the factory box does not have. In retrospect if building another one would use the same design but would re-engineer with lighter grades of steel still allowing adequate strength for what one carries on a small truck. I also should have gone with my original plan of tongue and groove which gives more strength when dropping odd shaped objects that are heavy on the deck. The only thing Dodge did do is the factory reciever hitch can be mounted ahead 6" with holes that are already drilled in the frame. Will try to get some pictures on here in the next couple of days. PK

Ran outside quickly today and took a couple of pictures in between rain showers. They are too large for the forum but have a look under Junior Flatdeck in the photo album, will try to get more with details. PK
