Anyone running a Helix cam

At 450 rwhp my 01 H.O. is running pretty warm egts with comp box in upper levels i was wondering how the helix 1 and 2 cams would do for reduceing egts. I would like to be able to run with box on kill and be ok , im running a htb2 62/12 at 42psi. Also the manual fuel pump would be perfect.

The best thing I found after having a Helix 2 cam installed was how much better trottle response became. Improved fuel economy and helping the turbo get going is the main reason I bought one.

I would recommend going with the Helix 2, this is F1's best all around street cam! Great spoolup, improved mileage, and lower egt's are all part of the package this cam delivers.

If I can answer any more questions please feel free to phone.

Hey Doug, is the complete cam and fuel system available as a kit yet for the 24 valves?

With the helix 2 do you have to change valvetrain? Thanks for the replys.

The H2 should have have our updated springs installed before too many miles are logged. You only end up with about .040-.050 clearance total between coils. Typically you want more than that. The H2 raises the valve faster and this builds more heat in the stock spring. More than it is long term designed for. I have some folks using the stock springs, but not with twins and high boost or high RPM levels.

Anyone wanting to twist over 3200 RPM and over 45 PSI should have the springs. Even the stock springs and cam can begin valve float at these levels. Back pressure level plays a part as well.

Yes, you can change out that goofy electric pump and use a mech pump. A complete kit is available at a very competitive price when you compare the cost of the aftermarket electrics.
