Anybody run a EEP Dual Disk?

I will be installing a Enterprise Engine DD in the old girl as soon as I can find a 1 3/8" input shaft, and I was wondering if there are any members on the board that run one. If so, could you tell me a little about how you like/dislike the clutch and how it behaves on the street?? I was mainly wondering about how quick/slow it shifts and overall noise, but any feedback is welcomed. Thanks in advance...

:edit:

EEP's eventually break a center plate after any abuse.

Thanks for your $.02, but I already have an EEP DD on the shop floor. I'm glad you like your southbend, but thats not the clutch I own.

If anyone has real world experience running a Dual Disk from Enterprise Engine then I would love to hear from you.
Thanks,
Cody

Sorry I don't have "real world experience" with one, seems I summed that up with the third sentence. They are bad about braking center plates that's the reason I didn't buy one. I used to run around with a regular group of pullers a couple years ago, they all ran EEPs. They all had replaced center plates one or more times.

I ran an EEP in my old truck. I did crack the center plate, but they provided me with the new style (cryoed) at no charge. It was a tough clutch, enjoy it and don't worry about it not being an SBC

Tcolesanti is running one in his truck and loves it. He not only sled pulls with his truck but also delivers big boats when he has time off from the Navy! I have ridden in his truck and it doesnt seem to be that bad as far as the stop lights.
I sure like the pedal pressure!

i have had two diff. versions of the eep two disk in my truck. i love them both. the new clutchs with the heat treated and cryoed floaters solved the cracking problem and if one does crack it will be replaced by them but this problem is alot less common now. you can get the standered 2 disk that is very tough and streetable. i have run one for about a year with no problems and put about 25 hooks on it. i had it out to put in a billet fly wheel and billet pressure ring clutch from them with some diff. disks. it was indestructable in all ways. i slipped it out past 100 ft or better about 3-4 times and the disks still grabed hard and mic. at new. i put my old one back in a while ago and have hooked it once and it is still great too. if you need any info on them let me know and i can get it for you.

I can tell you that the cryoed center plates are not the answer either. I think I got the very first cryoed plate and it lasted about 8 months and when we pulled the clutch to replace it the center plate come out in two pieces
I loved the clutch it handled very nice on the street loaded to 38000 lbs or empty. Some people have problems with the center plates and some don't, If I hadn't got the SBC I run now for the steal I did I would still be runnin it and luvin it. I think all they need to do to solve the problem is to make the center plate thicker like the SBC. 65000 miles and 100 hooks and the disks are still not gone yet, put it in and enjoy

If you would like to get more answers from people who run the Mitchell clutch, I would ask this question over on the other forum.

This forum here, is SBC salesmen home-territory and they work it hard and relentlessly. Every single other clutch in the entire world is total junk...

The above statements are my personal opinion.

It doesn't hurt that Peter posts on here sometimes to answer our questions or the fact that he has the absolute best customer service or the fact that he goes WAY out of his way for some of us or that he has some of the best clutches out there. Nah, that's not it at all.

You provide me with a manufacturer that does all the things Peter does and/or surpasses them then I'll support them but until then, I'm gonna support Peter at South Bend Clutch. Funny, I don't even own a stick and I'm supporting Peter. That should say something right there. And yes, I do have experience with South Bend Clutches. I was just giving the reasons why I like Peter. He's a great guy, makes great products, and he stands behind them 110%. If I owned a stick I'd have a SBC in it. But like I said, you find me somebody that compares to Peter in every way, shape, and form and I'll support them just as much as I do Peter.
