Any tools needed for cam

Any special tools needed to replace a cam on a 12 valve. Also I asume they are the same as a CR.

I just replaced my cam, no special tools needed other than a press to get the cam gear on and off.

You might consider a long bolt that can be screwed into the cam temporarily that can be used as a handle to help work the cam into the block.

12 1/2" wood dowels 12-14" long to hold up the lifters
Bunch of elastic bands to bound the dowels together in pairs
Piece of 2" ( IIRC) pipe cut in half to slide the lifters out if your changing them.
Just your reg shop tools for the rest.

Also the wood dowels for cyl 5 and 6 I cut shorter then the rest. Made them 1/2" longer then the push rods. Taped cyl 5 and 6 dowels in with the flat side of a wrench.

May as well just replace the seal while you're there.

I have an old ratchet handle I TIG'd to a long bolt w/12mm thread... makes that rear journal insertion a lot easier!
