Angry Another lift pump dead

Well here we go again,I know I'm not that hard on my truck.I drive it to work everyday but I take care of it.Two Blue Holleys Two Carters and I can say that the Holleys out last the Carter pumps and they are rated for diesel fuel. The last carter I put on the week of Christmass did not last long at all Just started falling off on the preasures. It seems to happen when it is cold weather I think they just can not handle the thicker fuel when it gets cold.Anyway I ordered a Fass this morning should be here by Monday.Man I hope it last if not a may just have to set fire to it.

I don't run additives, other than 5 gal. of kerosene every 20k. My first one was at 37,000, and at 102k this one is weak ( 12,10,4). I have a new Lift pump and am installing a pusher.

Well I am going to give a update on my lift pump,I ordered a Fass pump from RBR on Thursday and it came in the next day which realy surprised me.And just my luck when I pulled the plugs out to install the fuel lines a spring fell out so I called Steve at RBR and I would recomend RBR to any one realy nice guy to do buisness with he called me back after hours and told me to call him anytime that he understood, anyway I took the pump apart and found that the spring had not been installed properly.I put it back together and it is working fine now.It seems that Diesel Performance products has some quality isues.also they put a waranty parper in the box to send in with no address to send it too, thank goodness for the enternet. If anyone needs a fass pump he has them in stock there number is 1-800-805-5487 ask for Steve.Great service on his part.

Not to change the subject, but what is the purpose of 5gal. of kerosene every 20k. Cleaning?

Yes. The station I fill up at also has kerosene. I put 5 gal. kerosene to maintain the injectors and the rest of the fuel system, then top the tank off with diesel.

I installed the pusher with the weak pump still there. Now my PSI's are 18 13 8. The lift pump is going in this week end.

u should be using additives not kerosene. it has lowers btu's, and is more expensive then a bottle of additive. kerosene is blended with no. 2 to prevent gelling in the winter. u live in florida not a concern for u.most northerners will get 1-3 mpg less in the winter due to the kerosene and frigid temps.

Also, the Kerosene you are putting in there may be "marked" or "dyed" and is not intended to be burnt in vehicles. You pay no road tax on it so it is therefore illegal to burn in your truck.

(I realise you are only using a small quantity periodically but you can still get in trouble)
