another hole option for scotty 2

I have been thinking about a scotty 2 for some time but drive 2-3 hrs a day and have 4 passengers at most times so any added noise may drive me in to a wall
so i was thinking about modifying the passenger side fender by cutting a hole in the top of it beside the head light and running a tube to a scotty and was woundering if any one has tried this and how it worked.

Actually, you can run the Scotty without cutting the hole in the cowl.

Cant say that I can see your idea working - You would need a 4+ inch hose.....what kind of hose will you use? How will you get it to enter the back of the Scotty??

Like Doc Evil said, you can run the Scotty either without the hole or with the hole covered up. It will still draw air through the factory spot in the fender. I'm running mine in Hush mode (I just put the insulation back in front of the hole in the cowl) and it's not at all obnoxious like that. Even my normal stereo volume covers it up nicely.

Thats how the stock setup works- air comes into the fender well and through the boot into the air box. For getting more air through there I removed the boot and filled in the fender well past the hole for the air box for a ram air effect. I used great stuff foam. It works so well that when I drilled the cowl and piped it into the stock box it made no appreciable difference for me.

Just me 2c from way out in left field

If you are seeing high EGT's then you really need to run that Scotty II with the cool air from the cowl area. That is what makes the Scotty II special and it really does help the trucks that are fuel modified.

A stock truck will run just fine in hush mode, or you can just open her up when you are towing heavy and seeing those high EGT's. I like the turbo sound myself but I can't hear worth a darm out of one ear.

Can't see too well out of the other one either
