Jamie, that really does look like a good quality spray on liner. I have Linex in my bed and on my rockers, but due to a minor fender bender have to have most of my passenger side redone. I love the Linex product, but it's pricey, and the last shop that did the rockers did not do a very good job of sanding/prepping, hence the adhesion wasn't very good. Box was done by different shop when I first got the truck and it's held on fine - very durable stuff.

I think I am going to try something similar to what you've used when I redo the rockers this time. One question though, you call this stuff "Al's", but can you elaborate on that a bit? I don't know Al...

Thanks!

Thanks!
www.alsliner.com Thanks. You can add vinyl flattener & rubber crumb to your liner & Al's claims that it will resemble Line X. This liner is very good quality! I am impressed with it.

Finally, I asked about this a while back on the 3rd gen side of things. You did an excellent job on your rig. A couple question if you dont mind.. After you sprayed how long until you pulled your tape off? What size compressor did you use? You said you shot at 120psi? Did you have any issues shooting the vertical surfaces (rockers) any running or dripping? Did you use a certain color paint to mix or was that the provided material from Al's? Also did you add any chips to liner? Thanks in advance and keep us posted on durability...

Thanks. I unmasked as soon as it was almost dry enough to touch it. [about 20 minutes] Here is my compressor.

I had no issues with shooting the rockers. I laid down 3 heavy coats & waited 5 minutes between coats. I I color matched my liner using automotive pigments from my local parts store. Al's comes with standard colors black, tan, grey. If you are color matching, you'll just discard the Al's tint & use your own. I didn't add any rubber crumbs or anything, just sprayed it the way it comes in the kit. Al's claims that it doubles in strength when you add the ruber crumbs.

Your compressor is dual stage, it should keep up fine. My compressor only kicked on twice while I was spraying.

It has been tested with 7 pallets of salt this winter as well.

The rockers have seen their share of abuse & they are holding up very well.

Nice! What's that funny looking thing on the front of your truck? We don't see that down here Florida way.... Keep us informed on how the liner is performing. I think some Al's liner is in my future....

I'd answer that, but your next question would be "What is snow?" I'll keep this thread updated.

Jamie, I'm impressed.

Especially considering you used the wrong Vaseline in your gun. You're supposed to use the Vaseline rated for spray-in liners.

I hear Line-x can hook you up for $50/tub or so.
