all this turbo talk

I was woundering just how much a differnce a bigger turbo would make with my current set up I am running 35 lbs of boost and if I go to a bigger turbo to run 45 is it really worth the 1200 bucks?anyone who has upgraded to a larger turbo how did the power increase feel?

The main advantage of a larger turbo is the ability to run higher chip settings without having EGT issues..
If you don't have a lot of excessf fuel there is not a whole lot to gain.
Also, more boost doesn't neccessarily equal more power, the HTT turbos are wastegated around 38PSI of boost but are able to produce good horsepower numbers.
Aftermarket turbos are able to push more air at a lower boost level.
A stock turbo pushing above 35-37PSI is out of its efficiency range and will be pushing hotter air..

thanks for the info, I am sure I am only pushing hot air and I can make A ton of smoke with the comp on so I would think I have the fuel for the bigger turbo. what about a larger exhaust housing stock is 12 and I was think of a 14 ported would that help?

Shoe, if you do change the exhaust housing.. look at something like HTT's upgrades for the compressor wheels and housings... You should have a 56mm compressor wheel... I think you can get up to a 60mm wheel and housing from HTT...
But I know you have enough fuel to go bigger...

When I upgraded from my stock hx-35 to a Super B I noticed a big difference in egt's. It will still peg out close to 1500*'s but it take a LOT longer to get there. I can run WOT and not peg egt's for close to 5 more seconds than I could w/ the stock turbo. Yes, there is a slight bit more lag, but I think it was well worth my investment in turbo upgrades. My turbo is definatly a top end turbo (as soon as I hit 20 psi boost, it almost instanly jumps to 42 psi). Any turbo upgrade would definatly help egts and you will feel the top end difference.

Buy TWINS and be done with it. Running big injectors and seeing 1500 plus degrees is doing nothing more than blueing the tops of your pistons.
