air filter question

air filter question

i looked up the specs of the bhaf from napa and it says the dia. of the hole for the tube to go in is 4"...so has anyone just bought an afe or know a number for an afe with that 4" hole and ill build my own heat shield and whatever? just dont feel like spending 75$$ on a napa crap filter when i can just spend a little more for an afe...

Obviously, you feel that your engine needs more air. Can you tell me how you came to that conclusion? I suggest you compare performance (on a clean street on a clean day) under two conditions: a test run with standard filter in and then a test run with filter removed. I doubt you will find any difference.

go to amsoil's website and search for eaau4510. This is the biggest air filter they have. There is a link to the acrobat file with pictures and dimensions for all of their universal filters. I get the eaau4510 for fifty-six as a preferred customer. It has a 4 1/2" flange

I run a BHAF primarially for filter life...

Even on a clean street and day there is still a chance of getting something in a turbo impeller. Not a bet I want to take...
