Scotty
I am beginning to think that there are several customs folks at the border that own Dodges.

perhaps you should print on the box in large lettering
"Will NOT Fit on Cummins 5.9 installed in UPS trucks."

Re:air filter

ive been doing some testing with a flowmeter lately and so far the results have been pretty interesting.theres alot of opinions on filter set ups but nobody seems to have numbers to back them up.the stock box with drop in filters flows around 550cfm.the popular bhaf flows around 700cfm.a k&n 9 inch open flows around 750cfm.the best flowing so far has been the afe megacannon at 1050cfm.i havent laid hands on a scotty yet.with the inlet boot open, pulling raw air with no filter on my truck it pulled 400cfm at idle,1375cfm at 2500,and 1550cfm at 3000rpm.this is a hy35 with wastegate.with any of the other turbo,s,it would only be more. i hope this helps you.

Re:air filter

Dan: I had 8 2 inch holes in my stock air box with a drop in kn and it made a 2 mpg difference but alot of noise (to me and Mama) so i plugged them and am thinking of how to do it different and no noise or less noise and block the heat from the eng. :

Re:air filter

Hey, Scotty -- you and Rod fooled around with the AFE Proguard 7 yet? I'm getting much better dust filtration results with that filter, but I have no idea how the design cuts down on flow. Doesn't seem to, seat-of-the-pants.

Re:air filter

rattlerattle my testing was done with a $1500.00 handheld flowmeter we use in hvac work.it has a long lead and probe similar to a multimeter.i slipped the probe through the filter element to get my readings.im still trying to get my hands on a scotty system to test.it is supposed to be close to the megacannon on cfm but be better on air temp.my meter also has air temp. capabilities.the supposed relation is 1 degree higher intake temp results in 3 degrees of exhaust gas temp. if this turns out true, the scotty could be the way to go,especially for hy owners.

Re:air filter

Using a drop-in k&n for now, saving money for a clutch so haven'nt went with an entire intake setup

Interesting reading! Those who havent read it anyway.
