aftermarket T/C and pan?

Hi all, I'm changinging the oil today, and noticed that my T/C looks different when compared to a t-350 chevy t/c. Trying to figure out if I have one with a billet front cover. The front cover part looks flat right up to the flywheel. On chevy t/c they kinda round up to meet the flywheel by the bolts. The front cover is nicely welded to the rest of the t/c by the middle of it.

Now i also noticed that my tranny pan is Black, and it looks like it might be deeper than stock. It measures about 3" deep and the back passenger side corner.

Could either of these be aftermarket parts? Thanks in advance for the replies! I have already learned so much from this awesome site. Bret

no drain plug in the pan. the t/c is painted blue, i cannot see the tabs where the flywheel bolts go in because of the way the t/c is shaped. i dont think there is a drain plug in the t/c, but not sure, i havent seen one yet. Thanks for the reply, Bret

i have a question here too... I drove a truck today, which had a lot firmer shifts, then stock tranny, and the TC seemed to be very hard, =took long untill it got boost, when braking it in gear... the TC was painted black, and it had a drain plug... anybody knows what company paints the TC black??

it had a mag Hitech pan or somthing like that...very deep.

thx

Srt20: Sounds like your truck has an aftermarket converter Not sure what brand it would be if its blue.. Ats is purple, goerend is black, I guess DTT is black, not sure about the rest. My Goerend doesent have a drain plug in it, so that is not always on aftermarket TC's. You definately have an aftermarket TC by the sounds of it though. I have a picture of my Goerend Converter in my gallery.

Eric, my t/c doesnt look anything like yours. I cant see the bolt hole tabs for the flywheel bolts because the cover fits right tight up to the flywheel. I am gonna look on some sites and see what some of the vendors t/c's look like. Anyone have and sites that i can look up other than DTT, Suncoast and Gorends? Thanks Bret
P.S or does anyone else have t/c pics in their gallery?

Ok, I just looked at Suncoast, And my T/C looks like the one they have for a 99-03 dodge truck. I am gonna asuume that this is a billet front cover? If so I have one. Now I just need to figure out the brand. Thanks again, Bret

Yep Bret, you have the billet cover. That was my single disc without a billet cover. My triple has the Billet Cover. I will post pics in my gallery right now, and you can see them when they are approved. You definately have a nice aftermarket converter from the sounds of it though

Eric, yes mine looks kinda like yours, except mine doesnt have the notches inbetween the bolt holes. Solid material there right up to the flywheel. Thanks, Bret
