SSI TBK Question

Guys,

Last June (I think) I installed my SSI TBK and new DAT.

I've retorqued all the bracket bolts at least 5 times. Sometimes they were slightly loose (5-10lbs.) and other times they were still to spec.

My question is, isn't the bracket supposed to sit flush up against the frame rail? All the pictures on their website instructions show it flush, but mine is at least 3/4" off the rail with the bolts all at the specified torque.

The reason I ask is because I have a weird wobble (not real bad at all, but noticeable to me and passengers) around 42-45 mph and I can't find the culprit. My ball joints are fine, sway bar links still close to new, tie rod ends good, bearing/hub assemblies okay, but the only thing that is lacking are the link arm bushings (they feel tight, but look done for). I'll be getting to them as soon as my schedule lossens up just a little.

I've had three different sets of tires since last June, BFG MT's, Goodyear MTR's, and now TOYO MT's. The folks that do my alignments (couple different places) keep blaming the tires, but I've had 5 sets of MT's and never once had this trouble before.

Any insight is appreciated.....

I installed the TBK, Adjustable 3rd gen style bar, and the DSS on my truck within the last year, and yes, the brackets sit up tight against the frame in all cases. The exception being the front of the TBK bracket, which sits approximately 1/4" from the bottom of the frame rail, with the steering box bolt torqued to factory spec. I did have the bolts that hold the outboard pillow block bearing come loose once, and I promptly went to a slightly higher than recommended torque value on those fasteners. Other than that, the upgrade has been problem free.

I sell Solid Steel parts, and have installed several upgrade kits and adjustable track bars, on trucks right from 94 - 02, with no problems at all other than the one I mentioned with my own truck, and the pillow block bearing bolts.

Hope this helps a little
