Aftermarket camshafts

I was wondering if anyone has baught and used an ATS towing cam for the 94-98 12 valve engine? I am also wondering if anyone is running the 370 horse injectors with the bigger fuel delivery valves in a truck they tow a lot with. I am concerned with fuel mileage/egt's. I can't decide to get the 330's or the 370's. I personally think I should go ahead and get the 370's since it will be apart, and I figuired it would be more affected by my foot than anything else. Any help would be much appreciated.

I would stay away from the 370's if you tow. They have a different spray angle than the stock injectors which causes a lot of smoke and high EGTs. They can also lower your fuel mileage. A set of 215 injectors would help out your truck if you don't have them already. If you already have the 215 injectors, some honed out or EDM's would also help you. The 370's are a good deal for the money, but there are better injectors out there. I can't help you on the cam, but I have heard good things about Helix cams.

Does this work well on the street as well as while towing? Could I ask you how much it cost and how do I get one?

I use a F1 Diesel Helix2 cam in my 12valve. It really helps light the 'charger since I have a tight torque convertor. I installed one on a 2004.5 and we saw an increase of ~2mpg. However, most of the increase was due to the restrictive 3rd gen cam. www.f1diesel.com

what would be the best cam to make the rpms space farther apart, i would think that that would be a sweet mod to have the engine sound so nasty!!

The cam under this hood is the one Joefarmer was referring to.

And Pouring puts it nicely, don't leave home without it!

The cam won't make the lopey sound like it will on a gasser. To sound like a pulling tractor, increase the timing until it won't run and then back off a degree or two. You'll also need to increase the head gasket holding power unless you like coolant and oil running away. It will be almost impossible to start in cold weather too.
