AFE stage 2 intake, info plz.
I am looking into purchasing either a stage 1 or stage 2 intake kit, how much louder are these kits over stock. I had heard that the stage 1 was pretty loud, so I will probably be going with a stage 2 so it will be a little quiter. Would like some info from people that have the system. Thanks

Why would the stage 2 be quiter? Stage 2 is flows a lot more air and is for higher perfromance applications. Id say it would be louder not quieter.

Stage 2's are a touch quieter than the stage one intake. Plus they claim to flow more air since it is a 6 in. filter instead of teh 4 in. that the stage one has. Driving a truck that switched from stage 1 to stage 2 couldn't tell a real significant difference in power or egt. just a touch quieter is all.

I put the Stage II on my truck with the new intake tube they have out. It was a pain in the *** to install on my truck. I had a hard time getting the coupler they supply to fit good on the turbo and the intake tube fitting in it then on the filter cover base where the allen head screw goes through the side of the cover and into the intake tube it would not line up. I finally just made the slot a little longer in the base cover so it would line up. I am disappointed in AFE on how this one fit sent them a email about it last week but have not heard from them. They don't seem to get in much of a hurry to respond to emails. Don't say much for there customer service. It is not that much louder about like if you take the silencer ring out of your turbo. What mileage improvement I get ain't worth the cost of it. It does drop your egt some.

Your right, The box was a pain in the A$$ to install. Everything else worked out pretty good for me. I did have to give the box a tug for the cap to fit on and line up properly. Other than that, pretty smooth i thought.

I always advise stage one I have put down 450hp with very managable egt's with a stage one. Stock intake tube will supply plenty of air and will not collapse save your money.
