Does anyone know the Inside Diameter on the AFE filter that comes with the mega cannon. I am building my own custom heatsheild out of stainless. I need to know what size pipe to get. the OEM box has an OD of 4 3/8" It sure was nice of them to use an even size.

 

Mine fit right on the hose from the turbo,so must be the same(4 3/8)

 

I wanted to know the inside diameter on the filter itself.

 

Most pipe you buy is Nominal Pipe Size or NPS. A 4" pipe is actually 4 1/2" OD, 6" is 6 5/8" OD, etc. until you get up to 14", then the OD is actual size. Some stainless pipe is specified as ID pipe with a wall thickness. I have a stainless book here that goes up to a 4" ID with a 1/8" or 11 gauge wall making it 4.25" OD. Your best bet might be to buy some thinwall 4" stainless and bevel the edge so the filter goes on easier. Hope this helps. Good luck.
