Advavntages of MagHytec diff cover?
Re:Advavntages of MagHytec diff cover?
Sorry I got off track, but those are cool!!!

Anyways, I feel the way you do. I need to know what the big advantage is before I make my wallet $300 thinner. I hear they are great except they can hit stuff, like spare and track bar. And I mean great by the fact that you dont need silicone, you have the handy magnetic dip stick, and you gain a quart. Even though I've never seen a differential low unless it leaked. (except from the factory)
Re:Advavntages of MagHytec diff cover?
One of the biggest advantages is that fluid changes are quick and complete - do it yourself in the garage or driveway with no mess! With the heavy magnet on the plug, and the other magnet on the stick, you have the ability to "at a glance" see if there is metal in the fluid by pulling the stick.

Easy, clean, more fluid, and mine doesnt interfere with anything on the truck, but I only have the Dana 70...

Katoom said it, no silicone! It is a pain scraping off all
that silicone every time. Trying not to get it into the diff.
I just did my front and rear 2 days ago and really wished I had
Mag's to put back on. Next time for sure.
I don't think either had been changed, I got the truck with 45K
, the rear was pretty dark, the front looked clean, like new.
I can see where the extra fluid capacity would help the rear.
