Are you filling the fluid level up to the full level on the dipstick or the fill plug?

The fluid will come out of the fill level plug before it even registers on the dipstick.

I went by the dipstick and it took 7.5 quarts.

 

Non modified factory rearend takes 4-4 1/2 quarts. That sounds about right.

 

THat is about what I added to mine when I installed them

 

Yup me too, 7.5 qts to the center of the crosshatch on the dipstick.

 

I filled mine to the center of the crosshatch on the dipstick, that height was equal to the fill level of the fill plug on the stock cover.
