Advavntages of MagHytec diff cover?

Well as I near the quarter million mark I am planning some routine fluid changes. One of which is the rear diff gear lube. What is the main advantage of the MagHytec rear cover? Is this money well spent? What I need are some good hard fact, and personal experiences to use to sell this to my wife as preventive maint.

Thanks
Joe

-Dipsick to make it easy to do periodic level checks.
-Magnet on dipstick to pick up ferous particles.
-Increased capacity.
-Drain plug makes fluid changes easier.
-Makes your wallet thinner, lighter and easier to carry.

These guys also make a less expensive cover with a magnetic drain plug and increased capacity, but without dipstick.

Very cool. I would pay $100 less for one and give up the dip stick. No o-ring but how many times do you take it off anyway?

You also have to pay extra for a temp port on the tranny pan with the "yourcovers" or drill it yourself.

I like all my Mag-Hytec covers... ;D

It is really, really thick plastic, same stuff they make bulletproof windows out of.

There was a followup thread on Dodgetrucks.org (I think), some individual has fabricated a guard of some kind, mainly to keep from denting nice looking diff covers, and it would work with the clear ones as well.
Very easy to tell the level of the lube, and can tell at a glance if you have water contamination as well.

And I found it, here's the website.

Re:Advavntages of MagHytec diff cover?

Are you saying we got a wee bit off track?

I believe the only advantages are:
(as posted a couple posts previous)

Dipsick to make it easy to do periodic level checks.
-Magnet on dipstick to pick up ferous particles.
-Increased capacity. (keeps things less hot)
-Drain plug makes fluid changes easier.
-Makes your wallet thinner, lighter and easier to carry.

and I might add, looks better than the stock cover.

As far as cons go, I haven't heard of any, except maybe the wallet part, for the rear at least.

For the front cover, the MagHyteck and others, being bigger stick out more and rub the trac bar.
(2WD versions don't have to worry about it )
