Took a couple of buddies out for a ride this weekend as one of them is looking to get a smarty and injectors. With the smarty on #8, comp box on
5x4, let one of my buddies take the wheel for a ride. He pointed out that he got close to 45lbs of boost , gauge registers 60. I have the boost elbow from edge on the turbo. When we put it on the truck I tightened it up about as tight as it would go. Should I back the elbow off a couple of turns? I also pushed the hose for the wastegate up as far as it would go, should I back that off as well. I myself usually don't run the truck that hard above 30lbs of boost. Buddy Eli said that at the time the boost was that high we were running about 110mph, and pyro was about 1400. Only had the pyro that warm for a second or two. Just want to crank the boost down I don't want to be doing any head gasket work soon. Also don't want to explode stock turbo. Felt like kicking buddy in the twins. Thanks guys.

I would back it off to 35max on the stock turbo, over that your just making useless hot air. Hight boost #'s sound cool but your not gaining anything over 35. Sounds like a mean truck.

 

What’s gives you told Rockroach on another thread he was good to 50pis, that’s what PDR says, and he is on the stock turbo. This guy is on the stock turbo. Did you change your mind???????
