I just added some more pic of my overhaul project. Head studs, W/pump, Main girdle, and some pics of the turbo that caused the overhaul to be needed.

how much does the HPC coating add to the top of the pistons? is it enough to affect compresion ratio?

 

It adds very little to the top...

 

with all the stuff your doing to that motor, will coating those pistons increase its life expectancy? (any experience with doing this on a ctd?) or is this just to get the engine to hold up to that mondo turbo? in any event looks killer, makes me wanna search for a CTD to build up, rather then an sbc.

 

I have never done the HPC coating to a CTD, but I did a 460 ford years ago that the guy used to haul monster boat down to lake Powell and it dropped a valve after 60K+ miles and the coating was still intact.
