98 12V

I have a 24 valve and when I did my exhaust and injectors my buddy got jealous. He wanted to start bombing his truck. I didnt know enough on what needed to be done but he wants more power. Probably not extreme but more power. What mods should he start with. Also, I am sending him the website so he can join the forums.

Re:98 12V

the most simple thing is to play around with the fuel plate and AFC housing. it will give a nice boost of power for...well, free. what transmission does he have?

He has the automatic. He just bought the truck maybe 3 weeks ago. It already has a 4 inch exhaust on it so it can handle the temps a little better. I know nothing about the plates.

http://www.tstproducts.com/power_install.html

those are good directions. just move the stock plate forward instead of the one that tst would supply you. he might want to think about upping the line pressures and/or adding a torque converter unlock switch. he will slip the lock up clutch, but it shouldn't be too bad with the stock plate forward.

Re:98 12V

hehe, money seems to fly out of my hands ;D see my power below...that's with a #0 plate (a ground stock plate) which has more fueling than the stock plate being moved forward. my auto has upped line pressures and a converter unlock switch to help keep it together. it can be driven, but you need to know when to back off and treat it right.

Re:98 12V

Is there a tech manual out there I can get my hands on? If so, how much?

Re:98 12V

well, i have the big dodge ram service manual (~1500 pages) with the extra 24v diesel and body supplemental books--that runs for about $100. you could get something like Haynes for much less, but there wont be as many details.
