4" exhaust
I installed my 4" MBRP exhaust. It went in smoothly in about 45 minutes after I cut out the stocker. Thanks to Diesel Performance Parts, Inc. for a great price and Jeff at MBRP for answering my questions!
Also, I've already checked my mileage and I've gained 1.3 miles to the gallon over 26 gallons of fuel burned this past week, my usual driving style....well, maybe a little harder as I love the sound of my truck! I was surprised to gain this much, but I can tell it's running a lot easier with the mod.

I never noticed any fuel economy gain. Due to my right foot it just a pumpin fuel into her so I can hear it talk. I doubt I ever lost any low end with my 5 inch system... Maybe a dyno could tell me different......

One of the main reasons I put the aftermarket exhaust on was to lengthen turbo life and gain some mpg, and , of course the sound. I was surprised to see an appreciable gain. I have been trying to keep from rompin' on it, and computed the mileage at my last fill-up three times to make sure I was getting the right numbers. I'll keep checking my mileage though, just to be sure! It feels a little peppier for sure, I know its not just the sound, its a little more responsive on acceleration.

How does it sound, is it louder than stock? I'm changing mine soon, and I'm thinking of MBRP. Also which one did you get, they have the aluminized version, then two more expensive versions. Oh, do you know if the same system is used for both extended cabs and regular cabs?

My 5" straight pipe is wayy louder than stock! I bet you haven't heard a 3/4-ton truck this loud in LA (I haven't, I live here). I'd suggest MarkoIdaho from ebay. I got his kit. It was a great price, and on top of that, it had superb quality! The fitment was perfect and I like how the tailpipe exits 0 degrees to the bed. If you're on a budget, the aluminized version is the way to go. That's all you really need since we don't see bad weather here (snow, salty roads, etc.). So rust isn't an issue. The factory pipe is aluminized anyway. But if you like to bling bling then hey, can't beat T304 stainless steel.
