Piers agreed they were too loose. He called it govorner rebound, and to tighten it one turn.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'll try and get it adjusted by the weekend and report back.

Tim,
My idle was also low when I finished the installation. I went back in and tightened them up a click or two (can't remember now) and it idled perfectly after that.

I had it adjusted yesterday... no fix on the problem.

One turn tighter (on both).... did the same thing at a slightly higher idle
2 turns tighter (on both).... same thing, slighter higher idle still
1 turn looser (on both, than original).. same thing at lower idle.

So, we have adjusted it on either side of how it was originally aligned with no effect. It still rebounds at idle.

We called another mechanic, who thinks it might be a sticking plunger in the pump that showed up when we did the gov springs?

Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks
Tin
