370 Injectors??????

I want to start by saying thanks to everyone who has helped me to get where I am on my truck now I don't know what to say but THANKS!

Now to the question- You can tell what I have done to my truck by my SIG- I want everyone to give me your input on which injectors to buy. I don't know if the EDMs are worth the extra money but you are going to tell me which direction to go.

THANKS EVERYONE

If you can get EDM's, go for it! BUT, Don M will only make a set SPECIAL for you, not very cost effective!

370's are the best bang for the buck, but have a wide spray angle. With advanced timing, than can cause a problem, but not usually in our application.

I went with 300's for this reason. They were cheaper, and I wanted more "assured" long term reliability. I had heard of some engines running 370's for a long time, and you could see definate marks on the cylinder walls where the fuel was washing them down.

The biggest problem with the 370's is the wide spray angle washing the oil off the cylinder walls. IMO

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong guys, you won't upset me ,
Chris

Oh Yeah, I don't know power gains from the 300's, and don't know of anyone who does, but they did give me more smoke than the stockers, and about 8 psi more boost, so 50-60hp sounds "close"

they're an OEM injector... I don't see how they would wash cylinder walls on one of our trucks more than they would on their original marine engines... now, the marine pistons have a different piston bowl shape, and the spray pattern does effect fuel burn and causes more smoke, but I've never heard of a cylinder wash problem associated w/ 370's

There are alot of 370 injectors. Piers and Joe Donnelly years ago tested a bunch and differant ones and came up with the ones that work well in our application. I have had Piers 370s for over 65K with no problems what so ever I have never had any fuel in my oil and or any other related problems. The 370s do make some smoke and alot better preboost power. Clutchs and tires don't like that

interesting... my truck's had PDR 370's in it for about 70k miles. currently sitting at ~237k. runs like stink, no excessive oil use, makes ~70psi oil pressure cruising down the highway.

I'd love to try some high falutin EDM's, but I've got lots of other areas to throw money at first!

for the money, you just can't argue w/ the 370's

Hey, I told you guys you could disagree, I didn't say you could post it here

Maybe I got some bad info, I still didn't like what a few people had to tell me, so I went with 300's.

It's up to you.
I also meant to say in my first post that A LOT of people are running them, and have had no problems, just forgot.

Chris

AND IF ANYONE ELSE DISAGREE's, I'M HUNTIN' YOU DOWN Just Kiddin'

Thanks guys

What is the differance between 370s + PDRs 370s + others besides the price? There must be 6 different 370s that I've seen in my searchs and all different prices, whats up with that? I know some are matched sets and that is better but whose are matched and whosed aren't? Alot of 370s I've seen for $300.00 and some for $399.00, is it worth $100.00 for a matched set or not?

Kyle-

I just finshed my last post and then saw yours about BDs. Since your a vender for them, where do they fit in with the 370s. They just have HP increases but they don't compare them with others? I called them awhile back and didn't like the way they talked. They couldn't give me any answers, they just want to sell their parts. Why don't you give me where their injectors fit in with the 215,275,300,330and the 370s because I would love to know. I like their products but have yet to get a comparison between theirs and others?

370's are the real bang for the buck!A dodge man and a pontiac lover! I got a 68 rag top firebird I'm working on. Soon as I finish the inside I'm gona put a nice steel rodded 469 I got in it with some ross dish tops and a set of 722's I got laying around. O'ya the 370's sure stink if it idles for awhile.

I got that same feeling from BD when I called asking about their tranny parts. I wanted a rundown of the parts I'd need and the prices. The guy rattled them off so fast I had to ask him to repeat the prices, I heard him moan over the phone like he was put upon! Heck of a way to do business, I was going to buy BD parts due to their reputation and he totally turned me off to them, sorry BD.

I don't to start a bash BD-power forum!

I just think that the people who are selling their parts should be able to answer your questions or at least put you in touch with someone who can. If they can't answer the questions they shouldn't have their job! They seem to have great products but they won't be getting any of my money! I like their injectors, but how do I know if they will work with the combination on my truck?

Kyle- Why don't you see if you can get some answers to my injector questions because I might buy some.

I had a set of 300's for a long time and then went with a cheap set of 370's and felt little difference but I was only around 300HP then. If I was you I would just go buy a set of laser cut dv's and keep your stock injectors. you would make plenty of HP and a lot cheaper 200 bucks. I have a set of PDR 370's not and I did not notice a change from the cheaper one to the matched ones. The spray angle is different but if you get them run the thinnest washers you can and this will help out a lot.
