Talking 350 cummins semi turbo on a 5.9

Just wonderin if a 350 cummins turbo would work on are 5.9s I know there is alot of mods to get all the hardware to work. I have the turbo sittin in the shop just curious. I figure it would never get spooled up and if it did you would have huge amount of fuel running through the motor and it would be one smokey hog. Would love to see it around town . Has anyone ever tried this?

People put bigger turbos on the 5.9 all the time, the most common is probably the hx40 off of the 8.3's. SOme people run hx50's and 55's, the 50 is off of an m11 cummins. It looks like you have plenty of mods in your sig so give it a try.

It works fine as long as you use it as a twin turbo set up with the small turbo . If used by itself it would hardley work at all.
Do a search with the word twin* and you can read all about it.

HT3B's are common on Big Cam 350's, and HT4B's on 400 and 444's. Do you know what engine model it came from?

VT-50 or ST-50 would be correct for that vintage S/C or B/C 1 NTC-350. Those are gonna be big and slow and are probably not worth your time. They were the latest and greatest way back then, but not these days. They usually get upgraded to an HT3B when its turbo time, even on an old Small Cam engine.

It was on a small cam cummins and it is a VT model. I figured it would be slow and its definatly big. When it finally got spooled probably provide some great top end power.
