This is a perfectly legitimate beef that I share. I understand the economics of servicing a newer, broader market-- but there are still a good number of VP trucks on the road, and the lack of SW updates basically renders the USB port meaningless as far as I can see.

I haven't really wanted to fiddle with different softwares, but it would nice to have the option, and it WAS part of the appeal of the product.

I think if Marco and Bob (and whoever) looked at the market for selling gadgets, downloads, and software they would see the potential and maybe think..... " Hey, Maybe going open source isnt such a bad idea" cause if your not going to service the "only a few year old" product the reputation form the unserviced trucks is going to spread to the newer trucks and guys are going to evaluate that when making there purchase

there is a huge following at places like thirdgen.org , and other GM based car boards all related to hacking and modding ecm code...... hardware has to be bought but the collective helps to further the process, and the collective is loyal to vendors who support the hobby

time will tell

New software for VP trucks (NOT CRs )raises speed limiter to 150, and rev limit may soon follow...

Cool! So the .00000001% of VP owners that run a quarter mile trap speed over 150mph are taken care of.

Proof that they *do* care about the small market!

J/K-- I haven't had my coffee yet, so pardon my sarcastic lame attempt at humor...

Question

tires are the concern hence the 150 hp cap. This is only the start for the new and improved smarty software's

Who want more rpm's?

I think .000000000% is more accurate, not to mention I think only the 01 and newer trucks have this problem. Perhaps I'm just too chicken to find out at what mph the speed limiter lives. I won't say how fast I've gone, but it was a tick past pucker.

Speed limit is 113mph.

That limit can way too easily be reached just while passing. Please don't criticize that. You don't know the circumstances.

In any case, thanks Marco for sticking with the software; even though some solutions are tough.
